SM Sailing Junior Singlehanded Championship
The John C. Jones, Jr. Trophy was established in 1976 by his son, John C. Jones, III. Mr. Jones displayed a tremendous interest in junior sailing. He led the sailing program at the Menahaunt Yacht Club for many years. He also had a major role in the Cape Cod Knockabout Class. Mr. Jones' basic philosophy about sailing competition was that there was no disgrace in losing as long as the game had been played hard and fairly. The Jones Trophy is awarded annually to the winner of the SM Sailing Junior Singlehanded Championship.
